From 1st of July 2026, the Central Dog Registry (CEP) will be launched in the Czech Republic as the country’s only official dog registry established by law.
Registration will be mandatory for all dog owners and is intended to make dog identification easier, help reunite lost dogs with their owners, and provide a clear record of legal obligations related to dog ownership.
There is no need to worry. You do not have to register your dog on 1st of July 2026. Simply ask your veterinarian to register your dog during your next routine visit to the veterinary clinic.
